The Egyptian Tarot is a type of tarot that is based on the iconography and symbolism of ancient Egyptian culture. Although its exact origin is uncertain, it is believed to have been created in the early 20th century by French author Paul Marteau, who was inspired by hieroglyphics and Egyptian art to design the cards.

The Egyptian Tarot consists of 78 cards divided into two groups: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana represent universal and archetypal concepts, while the Minor Arcana focus on everyday situations.

Each card has its own specific meaning and symbolism, which is interpreted based on its position in a reading. In general, the Egyptian Tarot is used to obtain information and guidance on aspects of life such as love, work, family, and spirituality.

Some of the most well-known cards in the Egyptian Tarot include The Sun, The Moon, The Star, The Tower, The Judgment, and The Fool. Although it is based on Egyptian culture, it is important to note that the Egyptian Tarot is not a religious practice, but rather a tool for reflection and personal introspection.

The history of the Egyptian tarot goes back to the year 1781, when it was known as a book that covers the history of Egypt and therefore helps to preserve many of the mythologies, wisdom and common sense. One of the Egyptian Tarot series, is the Book of Thoth, created by Etteilla, a French astrologer who was the maker of the card.

A large number of variations have emerged after this, such as Gran Etteilla, Etteilla I, Etteilla II and Etteilla III. However, these are not the only Egyptian tarot cards out there, there are hundreds of different cards in circulation all over the world. The Egyptian tarot deck is made up of a total of 78 cards, which are divided into the major and minor arcana. There are 22 cards in the major arcana and 56 in the other. The tarot images are those of ancient Egypt that can be easily recognized by people who have a basic knowledge of Egyptian civilization.

The Egyptian Tarot model has generated numerous decks, many of these published in Spain and South America. One of those is the "Divinatory Egyptian Tarot" deck; (shown above), designed by Margarita Arnal Moscardo and published in 1988. Each card represents the concepts that are analogous to those of the Egyptian Tarot, but the artist has used different designs to make it, but takes real sources from Egypt
